Welcome to 2024. We have made some great progress on the Turf Up initiative, but we have much work ahead of us. We need more people to join our team to organize-execute-communicate and we need to raise funds.
Here is what we accomplished in the second half of 2023, once the towns voted to move forward with funding the Design, Engineering & Permitting work.
- Established a new 501(c)(3)- the Masconomet Sports Foundation – a super booster for the school
- Received personal donations totaling $96K (with another $50K in commitments)
- Received an initial corporate pledge of $50k
- Worked with the task force on Stantec plans – schematic design is currently in progress and the project will move into permitting this winter
- Initiated small community events to begin generating low-level grassroots fundraising
- Established donor and sponsor levels which have been approved by the School Committee
- Established a sponsor banner program to be rolled out to local small businesses January 2024
- Created and began communication with a targeted list of potential candidates for large sponsorships
- Identified and applied for potential grants for which we may be a candidate
We have a lot of work ahead of us. Here’s what we are working on right now:
- Add volunteer resources – we need help organizing donors, reaching out to community businesses, creating and planning social media updates, and spreading word to residents as well as potential user groups
- Create a donation push for residents to contribute to the project via buying a brick or reaching any one of our donor levels – no donation is too large or too small
- Generate large sponsorships from local, regional or national businesses
